Coastal Holiday Cottage at Noss Mayo/Newton Ferrers South Devon

An old fisherman’s cottage, with river views, situated about 100 metres from the River Yealm creek. The cottage has 3 bedrooms and will sleep 6/7.

 

1 Pillory Hill is situated at the end of a terrace of old fisherman’s cottages in the heart of the small village of Noss Mayo. The cottage looks out over the creek to Newton Ferrers, connected to Noss Mayo by a walk way (voss) at low water.

 

  • Three double bedrooms, sleeping six plus one extra if required

  • Rear garden with eating area with superb views down the river
  • On road parking (own space) at the front of the cottage

The accommodation is arranged over three floors. With the cottage built into the side of a hill, there is access to the garden from both the middle and top floors. The door from Pillory Hill opens into the dining room and the adjoining kitchen.

There are three double bedrooms, two with double beds and the third with twin beds. There is also a single sofa bed in one of the bedrooms to take an extra visitor if required.

There are two bathrooms each with bath, basin and WC. One of the bathrooms has a full-height shower and shower screen in the bath.

The sitting room overlooks the river as does the adjoining “snug” which has a wood burning stove, TV and DVD. Visitors are welcome to use the wood burning stove and we endeavour to leave sufficient logs for out of season use.  There is also a radio and cd player in the kitchen.

The dining room table will seat 6/8 people. In the adjoining kitchen the principal equipment includes gas hob, electric oven, dishwasher and fridge. The kitchen inventory is generally equipped for eight visitors.

Electricity and gas are included in the rental.

All linen is included. Each bed will be made up with duvet, etc and two pillows per person. Towels are not supplied.

There is a hairdryer in each bedroom.

There is a terrace to the rear of the cottage with table and chairs for outdoor meals. There is a lawned area with shrub beds and a summer house which has a splendid view down the creek with moored boats, etc. There is a lockable garden gate which leads out onto church steps.

Notes and Additional Information

The two villages offer a range of amenities which include several shops for one’s everyday needs, coastal walks, tennis courts, riding and a deep water anchorage for yachts and access to the water for dinghies.
